Every painting is done in rich colors and is truly three dimensional art. I use only artist grade materials in my paintings. I want every painting to tell a story, to start conversations, to reflect the person I paint it for. Painting on these surfaces is very different than a flat surface such as canvas or paper. The paintings must be designed to interact with the shape and surface of a drum. I use a thicker acrylic than I do on other surfaces. Each painting shines with life.
As a drummer I want a drum that is special, creative, beautiful and individual. As an artist I appreciate the one of a kind work of art. Buy a distinctive art work on a quality drum today.
All drums are not alike! I paint Remo drums because: Remo drums have a consistently high quality sound that does not go dead by the time it reaches an audience. The "pop" some people mention with Remo drums is why the sound cuts through so it can be heard across a room or large open spaces. This is essential if playing for dancers, with other drummers or instruments, or for audiences. Remo drums have a crisp, ringing tone, while some other brands have a "muddy" tone that makes it difficult to differentiate beats. My paintings on the Remos individualize them and give them a cool look. These djembes are tough and lightweight, a necessity if you carry them to different venues. he Fibreskin heads are easy to get and replace. They are easy to tune, which keeps you in sync with other drums. No trees are harmed in making these drums.
